Welcome to the 'autonomyhistories' wiki!

At the Nordic workshop in Copenhagen in September 2006 I gave a talk on 'The history of learner autonomy' in which I talked about the potential usefulness of local histories of autonomy being jointly constructed by participants. To prepare for the talk I emailed participants in the workshop with some questions and on the basis of the replies and any documents I had to hand I compiled some provisional timelines for different countries. At the end of the conference I promised participants that I would contact them with these timelines, as a basis for local co-construction of histories of learner autonomy practice. This is what I've done now by setting up this wiki and sending you its address and the password for editing rights. It is now yours to edit the relevant country page as a group of participants from that country!! I hope you take part and we can reflect on the results at the next Nordic Workshop in Bergen!
